What Are Micronutrients?
While macronutrients like carbohydrates, proteins, and fats provide the energy your body runs on, micronutrients do something equally critical: they make that energy usable. Vitamins and minerals are the compounds your body needs in relatively small amounts — milligrams or micrograms — yet cannot manufacture in sufficient quantities on its own. That means they must come from food.
